Nati entrambi nel 1982, Per Emanuelsson (Svezia) e Bastian Bischoff (Germania) si sono conosciuti durante il loro Master presso la HDK di Göteborg e hanno fondato lo studio Humans since 1982 nel 2009/2010. In precedenza, Per aveva ottenuto un Master of Science presso l’Istituto Reale di Tecnologia di Stoccolma, e Bastian aveva studiato Graphic Design alla HTWG di Costanza, in Germania. Dal 2010, operano a Stoccolma.

A million times è un progetto di design concettuale, meccanico e ingegneristico. Con questa installazione cinetica, Humans since 1982 presenta gli orologi come oggetti liberati da un’esistenza puramente pragmatica. La funzionalità ristretta all’indicazione del tempo e il carattere naturale intrinseco dell’orologio analogico, con le sue due lancette che danzano al rallentatore intorno al centro, svelano caratteristiche figurative nascoste senza negare lo scopo primario dell’oggetto.
A million times is a conceptual design project, mechanical and engineering. This kinetic installation, Humans since 1982 presents the clocks as objects freed from an existence purely pragmatic. The restricted functionality indication of the time and the analog clock intrinsic natural character, with his two hands dancing in slow motion around the center, reveal hidden figurative characteristics without denying the primary purpose of the object.
